Artistic Director
Devon Stone, Artistic Director of Collingwood School of Dance, has been
teaching for over ten years. Miss. Stone is a graduate of the intensive
School of Alberta Ballet Teacher Training Program. Her credentials
include Associate Diploma membership with the Imperial Society of
Teachers of Dancing Cecchetti Society Classical Ballet Faculty, the
Cecchetti Society of Canada and Cecchetti International-Classical
Ballet.
Miss. Stone has also successfully completed the Applied Anatomy and Physiology Relating to Dance course. Miss. Stone’s professional ballet training began at the Quinte Ballet School at the age of thirteen. She then attended the National Ballet School; and settled in at The School of Dance in Ottawa, where she graduated from their five-year Professional Ballet Program. While in Ottawa, Miss. Stone received the prestigious Celia Franca Scholarship Award. During her final year, Miss. Stone performed Psalmo de Vente, a solo choreographed by Owen Montague for the Happy Birthday Celia Franca Gala, presented at the National Arts Centre in Ottawa. In the summer of 2001 Miss. Stone attended the Dance Training Program at the Banff Performing Arts Centre, where she performed and was awarded a solo variation, choreographed by Brian Macdonald. Miss. Stone teaches all dance classes at Collingwood School of Dance, insuring that each dancer gets the very best training.
