Just Dance 2011 - Year-End Performance
It is mandatory that both Recreational and Performance Company students participate in our Year-End Performance and Dress Rehearsal held from Friday, June 10, 2011 to Saturday, June 11, 2011 at the Meaford Opera House. Tickets are $20 for adults and $15 for children 12 and under and will go on sale between April and May 2011.
Alice In Winter Wonderland - Performance Company Holiday Production
It is mandatory that all Performance Company students participate in the Alice In Winter Wonderland Dress Rehearsal & Performance held on Saturday, December 11, 2010 at the Meaford Opera House. Tickets are $20 for adults and $15 for children 12 and under and will go on sale October 1, 2010. Some recreational classes will be invited to perform in this show.
Dress Code
It is important for students to abide by our dress code policy for the following reasons:
A neat and tidy appearance sets an attitude of attentiveness and respect for students, teacher, and the art of dance.
Teachers must be able to see the dancer's body outline clearly in order to make proper corrections on posture, alignment, etc.
Hair must be in a secure classical ballet bun for ballet, pointe, flamenco and exam.
Hair must be properly secured and tied up off of the face and neck for lyrical, jazz, hip hop and conditioning.
No Jewelry is allowed to be warn in any dance class as a safety precaution.
Nail polish is not to be warn in dance classes, as it is distracting and cuts off the lines of the body (very light pinks and clear polish may be warn if unnoticeable).
Gum chewing is not allowed due to appearance and danger of choking.
No loose fitting pants, blue jeans, t-shirts or other street clothes (they are not dance attire).
No costumes are allowed in class unless a dress up day is announced by the individual teacher.
Prima Dance Program (1, 2, 3, 4)
GIRLS: Light blue uniform leotard, pink ballet tights, full-sole ballet shoes, optional light blue uniform skirt
Hair tied up in a ponytail or braid(s)
BOYS: White T-shirt, black bike shorts or pants, white ballet shoes
Ballet, Cecchetti Examinations, Pointe
GILRS: Navy blue uniform leotard, pink tights, (no bra/underpants), pink split-sole ballet shoes, pointe shoe fit must be approved by the Artistic Director before sewing and use.
Hair in a classical ballet bun
BOYS: White T-shirt, black men’s dance tights, dance belt, white socks and white split-sole ballet shoes
Lyrical/Jazz/Tap
GIRLS: Any colour leotard, black shorts, jazz pants or capris (Dancewear only – NO STREET CLOTHES), nude foot paws; black jazz shoes; black tap shoes
Hair in a ponytail, off the face
BOYS: T-shirt, dance pants, dance belt, nude foot paws; black jazz shoes; black tap shoes
Hip Hop
GIRLS/BOYS: Tank top or T-Shirt, comfortable pants, indoor running shoes ONLY, Hair in a ponytail, off the face
