Christmas Performance 2012

    Christmas Performance rehearsals for both full-time and part-time members will take place during scheduled weekly rehearsal times from September 17, 2012 to December 12, 2012. Extra full cast rehearsals of the complete performance will take place at CSD on Thursday, November 29th, December 6th and December13th from 5:00-7:00pm.

    Full-time Company students should attend these extra rehearsals with their hair in a ballet bun, wearing their uniform bodysuit, pink tights and ballet shoes. They should also have with them, their beige tights, jazz shoes and optional nude bodysuit to make quick changes more comfortable.

Part-time Company students should attend these extra rehearsal with heir hair in a ballet bun, wearing their uniform bodysuit, beige tights and jazz shoes.

    Full-time students will perform a group ballet and jazz/lyrical dance in the Christmas Performance along with any solos, duets or trios they may have leaned in the summer.

Part-time students will perform with the full-time students in a jazz or lyrical dance in the Christmas Performance.

    The Christmas Performance and dress rehearsal will take place at the Meaford Hall on Saturday, December 15th, 2012. Dress rehearsal drop off will be at 10:30am in a classical ballet bun and full stage makeup. The dress rehearsal will take place from 11:00am to 12:30pm. Students can be picked up for lunch just after 12:30pm and must arrive back at 1:45pm for the performance. Theatre doors open at 2:00, the matinee performance will begin at 2:30pm.

    Tickets will go on sale in October and are $20 for adults and $15 for children under 12.

Part-Time Performance Company (Mini, Junior & Intermediate)

Our Performance Company program is for those who are uncertain about the full-time commitment but wish to dance in our annual Christmas performance, Cecchetti Examinations, our year-end performance and a jazz dance in two competitions. With fewer hours and performances this program gives students a taste of performing and an option to decide whether or not full-time is the right choice for them. 

With three levels ranging from ages 7-15, our part-time dancers train 3 days a week, which includes 1-2 classes per day, and a weekly jazz rehearsal. For questions regarding our Part-Time Performance Company please contact Miss. Stone. Please note that students must be available for some additional rehearsals on three Fridays before our Christmas show.

Full-Time Performance Company (Junior, Intermediate & Senior)

Our full-time Performance Company is designed to truly challenge and inspire those that love to dance. Enthusiastic, dedicated and talented dancers are given the opportunity to grow their passion for dance by training in a variety of dance styles and performing at various events throughout the year. This program offers intense technical training, conditioning, challenging choreography and personal attention. Students gain the technique they need through concentrated training in Ballet, Jazz, Cecchetti Exams, Pointe, Modern and Tap. Performances include a ballet and jazz dance in our annual Christmas performance and in two dance competitions, Cecchetti Examinations, our year-end performance, and any additional community performances. Full-time dancers may also request to learn solos, duets and trios in August to be performed in our Christmas performance and at dance competitions.

While our focus is on giving students the opportunity to perform often throughout the year, the skills learned in this program have proven to be valuable life lessons that continue to benefit the students in all career choices. Self-discipline, self-expression, responsibility, and time management are only some of the qualities that our students are guaranteed to acquire. 

Ranging from ages 9-18, our Junior, Intermediate and Senior levels are all built on ability, technique, personality and above all potential. Request form must be submitted by May 1, 2012. Students must participate in CSD Summer Dance Camp, be apart of the 2012/13 FT Company and be available to rehearsal Aug 20-23 & 27-30, 2012 between 9-5pm.

$265 Solo, $190 Duet/Trio, Includes 1 competition entry fee. Due Aug 1, 2012.
